KC Scholars Key Findings and 13 Actionable Steps to Improve Experiences for Adult Learners The
John Law’s story started in 2017 when his daughter was a part of the KC
Scholars Program College Savings Match for 9th graders. John had been saying he wanted to go back to school and complete his bachelor’s degree, but he didn’t have the funds to pay for it and he didn’t want to get any loans. Within 1-2 years, KC Scholars created the Adult Learner Scholarship Program and he immediately applied for it.
He was so overjoyed when he got accepted. He started in Fall of 2019 and has not looked back. He maintained a 4.0, been a part of the Dean’s list, Honor Roll, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society not just for himself, but to let KC Scholars know that by choosing him as an Adult Learner was no mistake. Since then, John has told everyone he knows about KC Scholars. He wants to share his story and thank KC Scholars for all we have done for him, and he will never forget it.
John currently works at Lockton Companies in the IT department.
